aWebVisit - Summary

1. Introduction

aWebVisit extracts visitor information from WWW logfiles. For each visit, your web pages are then classified as an entry, transit, exit and/or hit&run page. The links followed during the visit to your website are classified as incoming, internal, outgoing and/or in&out links. If you are not familiar with these concepts, you will find more detailed explanations in the Help file.

Note : 23.1 % of all visits will be ignored here, either because they start with an excluded entry point (e.g. for robots) or because they only contain 'image' hits. You can modify what to exclude (or include) in the configuration.

It is worthwhile spending some time on this table. Notice for instance that of the 71538 page hits, 20.3 % are hit & runs. Or that of the 8962 different pages viewed on your website, 13.8 % are used as an entry page at least once.

Based on the 7559 entries to your website, you can also see that 20.0 % of your visitors use page /pictures/New-Zealand/ to enter your site, and 5.2 % use page /copdab/javascript/openwindow.php right before leaving your website. Interpretation of this table is similar to the one above. Note that redirects by your web server will also appear as links, and that frames will generate links between the main frame and its children.

Since 8962 different pages were visited and 13273 different links were followed on your website, we can say that visitors usually follow 1.5 links per page. This means that you may not have enough hyperlinks on your site, or that they are hardly ever used.
