Hi! Mike
I get a ticket to Auckland for 10 days and plan to bring my family by self- drive from
25/12/2004-3/1/2005 for North and South. Pls suggest me whether i should book hotel now
or wait until Aug (3 months before Dec).  And during Christmas, are ther many tourist
visit NZ and make my trip unconvenient?

Hey, I just like travelling - I'm not a travel agency :-)

You could arrange an organised tour where a travel agency will book hotels in the
different places you'll drive to, or you can organise the tour yourself and book the
hotels yourself, or you can just book the first and last hotel nights before you start and
then find a place to stay every night according to how your trip goes...

But 10 days is short for visiting both parts, so I would definitely focus on enjoying a
few highlights here and there, rather than running around and trying to cover everything
:-)
